The Holy Spirit was prophesied by Joel, proclaimed by John the Baptist and promised by Jesus. (Joel 2:28-29, Luke 3:16, John 16:7-8)
Now when you are saved "which is by the pulling power of the Holy Spirit that draws you to repentance, and inputs faith in you that reforms your spirit into new creature". You will know the Holy Spirit for he lives with you and will be in you. (John 14:7, IICor.5:17)
The Holy Spirit has already been given to all who ask, It was first given on the day of Pentecost and we see it given more times in the book of Acts. We do not have to wait upon the Lord as the apostle did before it was given. Because after the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was first given, we see all who ask and believe getting the Holy Spirit right a way. (Acts 1:4-5,2:1-21,10:44-47)
In (Acts 2:38) Peter said that if you repent and be baptized in the name of JESUS for the forgiveness of sin, you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. But in (Acts 8:12-17, 19:1-7) we see that the Holy Spirit comes in after we are saved only if we invite Him in.
